Jimmy LaRiche put together yet another amazing performance this week in Phoenix. He went bigger with more technical maneuvers and spun better than anyone else on the water on Sunday. He made it clear why he is the force to be reckoned with on the Jr. Men’s Tour.

There was one noticeable difference with Jimmy this week; he was off his usual Sub 6 and on a 136 Marek. When asked why he made the switch he said, “Well I go so much bigger with the Marek. I get like this much higher (holding his hand at about waist high indicating a measurement from the ground up of about 3 feet). And I can land move moves with it”.

This was Jimmy’s first contest riding the Marek, and it only seemed to help. He was going bigger than ever and still sticking his 7s and 9s. Jimmy made it to the finals yet again, and put together two stellar stand up passes with big spins and mobes. Although he did pop the handle on his double up, it was still enough to seal up his victory at Phoenix.

By taking first place at Phoenix, it gave Jimmy his 3rd straight tour stop victory! But even better, Jimmy’s win clinched the Jr. Men’s Championship!!!!!!!!!

Nicola Butler had an equally amazing weekend as well. She too took first place in a very competitive field of girls yet again. She nabbed first at her 6th straight tour stop (6 for 6) with big-time maneuvers like her 911, Batwing, Frontside 3 and Moby Dick.

And like Jimmy, Nicola clinched the Pro Women’s Tour Title as well!!!! That makes two Pro Tour Champions for the Hyperlite Team for 2009, and we are hoping for more!
