Raimi Merritt showed up in Knoxville for the 5th stop on the PWT having never put it together in the finals, but that all changed on Sunday, August 28th, 2011. Knowing Raimi now for a few years I’ve come to know her as passionate Wakeboarder with a very strong work ethic. She’s the first women to ever land the daring S-Bend and Hyperlite is stoked to see her get her first PWT Victory.
Raimi is a 4-time World Cup Champion, but a PWT Title had eluded her in the past few seasons. She came out swinging on Sunday stomping her S-bend, a couple 540s and a Tootsie Roll in less than ideal conditions.
“It feels awesome to win,” said Merritt. “I’ve been on Tour for three years and to finally win a stop is amazing. I’ve just been working on my consistency and to see it pay off, especially at the last stop of the year, gives me a lot of confidence heading into next season.”
