Knowing Mike for the past 10 years has been a real treat. He rode for DoubleUP back in the day and the two of us have always agreed on how boards should be shaped. The Tribute was shaped for Mike and working with him on that project was awesome. What’s better is getting to stay on his houseboats on Lake McClure which I’ve been lucky enough to do a few times. Mike has been very successful, his West Coast Camps ranks as one of, if not, the premier wakeboard camp in the world. Recently Mike expanded his lesson center to Lake Shasta, running day lessons out of Holiday Harbor and to top that off, he purchased a private lake near Redding with plans to run a teaching center that will include System 2.0s and eventually a wake park. On the water Mike’s style is completely his and that’s saying a lot. He’s followed his passions and allowed creativity to guide his riding and I love watching it.
