BIO
It's difficult to keep track of Nick, it was tough just getting these questions answered. Nick is all over the world living the life of a Pro. When we do get to hang out it's clear that he just loves to ride, anywhere any time. Born in the UK, Nick came up on the Cable and he single handedly raised the bar for Park Riding. Now the competition on the cable circuit is tougher than ever and Nick has had to keep the pedal down when it comes to progression. He won the World Cable title for 2010 and he was the first to land a Raley 7 which you can see on his site, Nick Davies.com! We're excited to see what Nick has in store for the 2011 season, as with you we'll just sit back and enjoy the show! -Greg Nelson, Team Manager
Q & A Sometimes when something fun turns into a job it seizes to remain fun. Has that ever happened to you with Wakeboarding and where are you at right now with being a professional? Wakeboarding to me as always been fun and always will be. Even though it's my job, I do have to take it serious and concentrate, but this does not mean the fun is going if anything its growing. I'm meeting allot of new people in the industry, getting to go places and ride where I never thought possible, and even testing out new boards/boot's etc! this is Fun!
We know you get to travel all over the world, what was your favorite trip this past season and where are you looking forward to returning? In 2009 I was on and off a plane every weekend all over the planet! Riding boat contest's then catching a flight straight to a cable contest then photos shoot's/demo's. 2010 has not been any different, still flying all over the place, from U.S to Asia then all the European Stuff and then the middle east, so getting pretty much all over the place riding and having the best time doing it! I always love the Philippines (CWC) and I can't wait to get back out there! This is a good trip and a half! Â At your level you have the ability to design and influence the product that everyone else rides. What's the process like and what are your goals when your name get's stamped on a Hyperlite product? As everyone says when they get this opportunity -"It's a dream come true!" Well it really is! From when I was riding earlier I never thought I would be riding for the Sickest and always will be best team Hyperlite! To have my own signature board, it's unbelievable! From riding cable and boat over the years I know exactly what I want in a board! Now I got it. So for 2011 I have my signature board called the Process. The graphics are crazy! loud and clean, and the bottom sticks out allot with the Neon Quote's and graphics! Excited for this, as for the new slider base and the rounded edges for rails but with sharper tip and tail to for a quicker edge and crazy POP! Â Where's our sport at today and where's it going? Is there a struggle between free riding & contest riding and is the sport progressing? Wakeboarding in general either from cable/boat/winch has grown like crazy over the last couple of years. Cable's are popping up all over the place and more and more contests and free riding jams are happening. Still contests are a big part of the sport and this is what keeps pushing riders to perform and ride better/stronger and more consistent, and this helps a lot with free riding. The System, give us the low down... The system is the next generation boot. From what it looks like to how it feels and what can be done with it, it's incredible! Riding cable all day and in and out your boot can be a bit of a mission, but with the new boot system it makes it so much easier to get off your board and get allot more time out on the water! From how the boot feels also is like nothing else, you get so much more board control and a lot of support and really soft on landings which is perfect!
