The Acworth, GA tour stop was a stop to remember as the competition was as tight as we have seen in a long time. In the Pro Men’s Division the final heat was one unlike any other. The final riders were Adam Errington, JD Webb, Rusty Malinoski, and Phil Soven. All four riders stood up their passes and landed their double ups. But the amazing part is how they were able to stay so controlled in a lake where the water was blown out due to the high winds whipping across the surface. Everyone on the shore was left in amazement at the sight they had just witnessed and they were all wondering who might take home the tour stop victory because the riding was just to close to point to a favorite. The scorecards finally came in and Hyperlite’s Rusty Malinoski and JD Webb took Third Place and Second Place with Phil atop the podium. Rusty followed up his first place finish at the Wake Games with another podium, but also some more accolades; Rusty took home the Rockstar Best Trick with his HS 720 off the kicker. And JD Webb also got his best finish of the early season so far. We are really proud of both of them and excited to see their hard work this past off-season training for the tour. As for the Pro Women, our very own Nicola Butler took home first place once again for the second weekend in a row! But not only did she have the best and most complete run, she also won the Rockstar Best Trick by landing a Moby Dick! At 16, our hard charging lady from England is starting to make her presence known here in the States! And in Junior Mens, Jimmy LaRiche was riding great as well. He stood up both passes and showed off how complete his riding has become with effortless slides as well as his consistent work off the wake. Jimmy took home second place and helped Hyperlite grab a podium in every division. It was a great weekend for Hyperlite in Acworth. All our riders did an awesome job riding in such rough water. Up next is the Masters, and we can’t wait to watch our riders riding strong again! |
